O hotel
If you're looking for a great base from which to explore the Gulf Coast, look no further - you're in for a warm welcome! Speaking of the heat, you'll want to swim in the lagoon-style pool as soon as you arrive here in the warm, sunny Florida weather. Or are you more of a beach person? It's just steps from your room to dip your toes in the sea. If that's just a few, the 2 bedroom suites are perfect, offering plenty of space and a fully equipped kitchen to prepare dinner and drinks to enjoy on the balcony overlooking the sea. When you stay here with Virgin Atlantic Holidays, you avoid the resort fee and get free parking, which is great for exploring Greater St. Petersburg and Clearwater. If you prefer to walk, you are just a few blocks from historic John's Pass Village, where there are numerous water activities, tours and family-friendly restaurants.

Excellent location, right on the beach. Friendly and informative reception staff. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Cleanliness of the room, especially the bathroom, could be better. Overall a great stay and we would stay here again.
Definitely give this place a try!

Excellent location and customer service! Our room was right on the beach, beautiful sunsets and an amazing view of the ocean. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Although the temperatures were low, we were still able to appreciate the excellent design of the hotel itself - swimming pools on both sides of the property that we hope to enjoy on a future visit. About a block from John's Pass Village, walking distance to everything Madeira has to offer! We were lucky that the particular weekend we were there also hosted the annual Seafood and Music Festival! What fun! Fabulous music in multiple locations, food, crafts and a safe and fun environment! We hope to return!read less

The two gentlemen at the check-in desk were very friendly and always had a smile on their faces. I wish I had gotten their names. I love waterproof bracelets for room keys. The hotel was clean and our room was up to date. They don't send out cleaning staff every day unless requested, which I love. They have a towel change where you can put your dirty towels in a basket in front of your door and they will change them. On-site laundry was $2.00 to wash and $2.00 to dry. They have a vending machine but no drinks machine on site. The pool and hot tub are smaller but well-maintained. I really liked the property and the price was much lower than other hotels in the area. The beach in this area is perfect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Madeira Beach. Johns Pass is just a short drive away and offers numerous shops, restaurants, bars, arcades and jet ski rentals.read less

We stayed here in a 2 bedroom partial gulf view room for 3 nights following our Orlando vacation. The room was very spacious, furnished to a good standard, well equipped with a large kitchen and bathrooms and spotlessly clean. Every staff member we encountered was really nice. The only negative is that we didn't stay longer! Johns Pass with many pubs and restaurants is a 5 minute walk away. We ate at the Friendly Fisherman and Johns Pass Grille which had fantastic food and incredibly friendly and attentive service. We also ate at Bubba Gump, the food there was good but the service was lacking. I definitely recommend staying at the Barefoot Beach Club and would return for a relaxing stay in this beautiful part of Florida.read less

What a great place to stay. We booked the two bedroom apartment and were not disappointed. Two large bedrooms, one with a private bathroom, a spacious living room and kitchen and a large balcony. Decorated in a pleasant and charming pattern. Each bedroom has a TV.Key card access and bands have been provided. We didn't have a car, but a space is provided upon reservation. Excellent kitchen facilities, easy to use and modern, with a fridge three times the size of the UK. The pool was great and the jacuzzi nice and warm and a two minute walk to the beautiful white sandy beach. Leave your shoes in the bedroom. Reception and staff are very helpful. As for entertainment, St. Johns Pass is a 5 minute walk down the road with a few pubs and restaurants. Caddy's and Crabby's across the bridge were by far the best places to eat. For relaxation, the Bamboo Bar & Grill was great. If you head in the other direction there is another Crabby's with great views of the beach for a nice relaxing wine. All in all a good place to start a Florida vacation, now is the time to hit the beach and try somewhere else. We will definitely stay here again. We recommend stopping at Walmart or similar en route if you have a car as the local Win Dixie is very expensive for UK visitors. Bring your own diapers and bath diapers if needed. We also downloaded the Uber-like Lyte app for a ride from the airport, which was $60.read less
